Isaac
Isaac
(Lab Mix)
Born: June 11, 1998
PennHip DI: I can jump just fine.
CERF: I can catch a frisbee while running mach 4...CERF that!
Available as a neutered stud-muffin to approved bitches.

I have wanted a dog since I was twelve. Due to allergic family members, I was forced to wait until adulthood before getting a dog. (My mother often jokes that it is her fault I now have so many!) Immediately after college graduation I began my quest for a dog.

At that time, I was unaware of how carefully that decision should be considered. For my first dog, I knew I wanted a lab mix of some sort. I wanted a large dog, preferably black. So you can see why I naturally ended up with a medium size yellow dog.

Me and Mom.
Isaac come!
Embarrassingly, I must admit Isaac was an 'impulse buy' and the lesson learned was "Do Not Enter a Pet Store When You Are Actively Looking for a Dog". It is too tempting - ask Isaac.

Fortunately, I was spared the horrors of where pet store puppies come from and all of the health problems associated with poor breeding practices. In a rural New Hampshire town, a small pet store had taken in a litter of Labrador mix puppies to sell. Isaac and his much larger sister were the only 2 left.

Isaac was completely charming as an 11-week-old pup. He immediately retrieved tossed toys and returned with them, he was full of kisses, and squirmy adorable puppiness. So, he left with me that day in August 1999.
I have completely lucked out with my choice to bring Isaac home. Isaac is a great dog with lots of energy. He is very obedient and affectionate and loves a good LONG game of fetch. Isaac was the perfect first dog and was very patient with me as I learned the art of dog training. He is the pack leader and manager, and does well with his crew of Canaan Dogs. He is a fair and benevolent leader.

As a mature adult, he is still the most energetic dog I have ever met. In the summer he is kept in top-condition with swimming in our quarry or trailing Evan on mountain bike rides. Surprisingly, Isaac runs full tilt on 8-10 mile bike rides and usually has energy to spare!

Always with a smile!

Canine Good Citizen.

It's a little bit much Isaac.
That's better.

Isaac, r-e-a-d-y...s-e-t...
GO SWIM!

Puppies like goofy Isaac.
Hey buddy, you alright???
That was some show you put on.

Sometimes he gets a little tired after a game of fetch,
a 10 mile bike ride and then a little swim
in the quarry...but only sometimes.
