Lucy's Singleton Puppy - Lexi
Reserving a Renegade Canaan Dog Puppy
Because the Canaan Dog is a rare breed, it is not uncommon to wait for 6-12 months for a puppy. Canaan Dogs are a natural breed, meaning that their litter sizes are much smaller than the average domestic dog. Litter sizes range from one and six puppies. So if you are number five on the list and we only have four puppies...well you get the idea.

Contracts
Yes, contracts! It is of utmost importance that puppies we have bred and loved are given optimum care throughout their life by the person we chose for them. The contract is designed to protect the puppy from winding up in a shelter, being bred (where applicable), being shown in AKC conformation (where applicable). The contract serves to put in writing what we expect from you and your family as a responsible home for our puppies.

Whatever breed or breeder you decide to go with, you know you are in good hands when there is a contract in place. This indicates that the breeder cares about their babies.

A Few Words on Co-Ownership
A co-ownership agreement is established to ensure our very best puppies will be preserved for contribution back to the gene pool (provided the 2 year evaluation and health tests are passed). Technically, it means our names appear together on the AKC registration papers for an agreed upon time...even though the dog lives in your home.

We will also retain some breeding rights on the show-quality dog. The purpose of this to provide our experience, guidance and education about the breed and responsible breeding practices to newcomers.
