1 Week Old
Marley x Harry

Week 1
The pups are 7 days old today and are growing so quickly. All have doubled their birthweight plus a little more, so they are right on target. On their third day we began doing the Biosensor exercises with each pup. The biosensor program is a series of neurological stimulation exercises that have been shown to optimize puppy development.

Marley is a fantastic mom and very attentive to her puppies. She is more protective of them than Lucy was and gives warning with a low growl if a non-family member comes near the gate to her whelping room. She is very accepting of the entire family being near her pups, unless one of her babies starts to “fuss”, then she busily noses me to let her handle it. We are so proud of her and what a great mother she has matured into. Being winter, the pups have been enjoying the heat lamp we bought for them. They bask in the artificial sun like iguanas on a warm rock. We even caught a few rolled onto their backs sunbathing, very cute.

Also, the pups earned names this week. We had originally wanted to name them after ski trails in Vermont, in honor of their Green Mountain dad, but couldn’t come up with any we liked. So we have gone with snowboarding lingo, the registered names might get altered some before they are official. So, please enjoy the pictures of Ollie, Jib, and Camber!
